6 Ways to Keep the Kids Cool this Summer
The sun is here, it’s amazing and brilliant but how can you actually keep the kids cool.
1. Swimming/Paddling Pools
There are loads of fab ones around. This @liewood is so stylish and I’ve added a board of really fun ones. For babies or if you can’t get a delivery or a teeny yard like us we improvise and use a big storage crate or baby bath. Anything to dip their toes in and cool off, eh!
2. Sun Hats
Obviously a Little Hotdog Watson hat is a must, our hats are lined with temperature regulating fabric that keeps little heads at the perfect 37 degrees. Designed for astronauts perfect for kids.
3. Water Bottles
Hydrate, hydrate hydrate. It’s estimated on a hot day we should drink approx 2 cups more than normal (same for kids). A great way to do this for reluctant drinker is using a straw or even jelly, or homemade ice lollies!!!
4. Water Games
All water play is great fun. Grab a bowl of water and a cloth to wash toys, measuring cups to do pretend baking, or some paint brushes for painting fences/pavements.
5. Bedtime
Keep their bedrooms cool by closing the curtains during the day and keeping the windows open. It will be nice and cool for bedtime.
6. Sheepskin Rugs
Ok sounds crazy but sheepskin is thermostatic meaning it adjusts to temperature a bit like our hats. Baby liners can be used on seats and floor for older kids too or natural fabrics like cotton playmats work well for on the floor.
If you’ve got any tips, would love to hear them especially for babies.
